Botswana Education
The Botswana education system is divided into four categories. Which are: - Primary Education
- Secondary Education
- Tertiary Education
- Non-formal Education
The Primary Education
This level consists of 7 standards (referred to as grades in other countries)The very first class a student takes after pre-school in Botswana is Standard 1; and before the student progresses to the secondary stage, he or she has to successfully pass the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). This examination is taken at the end of standard 7 (the final grade before students proceed to high school). Its purpose is to determine whether or not the students are adequately prepared for Secondary Botswana Education. Secondary School System

- Senior Secondary
Junior Secondary School (JSS) - (Equivalent to Junior High School) Junior secondary consists of 3 forms (form 1, form 2 and form3) At the end of this level, ie, form 3...students take the compulsory Junior Secondary Examination (JSE) which is a prerequisite for qualifying into Senior secondary. Secondary School -(Equivalent to Senior High School) This level gets you ready for tertiary school. It is made up of two forms (form 4 and form 5). The final examinations ,Botswana General Certificate of Secondary School Education(BGCSE) are written at the end of form 5. They determine whether or not a student will be eligible for tertiary education. Tertiary Education

All these equip the youth with the necessary skills for getting jobs either in the private sector or the Government of Botswana, as well as for entrepreneurship.The largest of the tertiary schools is the University of Botswana.
