On this page i will share with you facts about Festus Mogae, Botswana's third president. Mogae was born August 21, 1939 in Serowe...Botswana. His full name is Mr Festus Gontebanye Mogae. Presidency Mogae is a member of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and was the Vice president from 1992 to 1998.He was preceded by Peter Mmusi and succeeded by Ian Khama (current president) as vice president. He served as the president of Botswana from 1998 to 2008. On 1 April 2008 he stepped down as President and was succeeded by Ian Khama. Education Mogae studied Economics and has an honours degree from Oxford University as well as a degree in Development Economics from Sussex University.
