Radio Botswana

Educating, entertaining and informing the people of Botswana

Radio Botswana (RB) is the only state owned radio station in Botswana. The station has two channels , which are:

  • RB 1 ......and
  • RB 2

RB 1

This is the main national broadcaster and its main aim is to keep the public informed about local current events/issues/news and any announcements by the government of Botswana.

The channel also strives to educate the nation through the several culture, education and entertainment programs it has on offer.

Programs include...

  • Dikgang (news)
  • Around the World today - Current affairs
  • Masaasele - Covers a variety topics including politics and current affairs
  • Matimela - Information on lost cattle
  • Ditatolo - Obituary
  • Temo thuo - About farming, includes news,tips...etc
  • Tsa metshameko - Sports news and updates

Programss are both in Setswana, our native language as well as in English.

RB 2

Rb2 (Radio Botswana 2) is the first commercial radio channel in Botswana. Unlike RB1 (Radio Botswana 1) which targets the nation as a whole, RB 2 caters mainly for the youth and the business community due its commercial nature.

Its broadcasts consist mainly of music, business, news and other entertainment updates.

Radio Frequencies

Both channels are available through out the country. Below are some the frequencies at which the both channels can be accessed throughout Botswana.
